Coaita /(kō̇*äĭ"tȧ)/ Co·ai·ta Coaita n. The native name of certain South American monkeys of the genus Ateles, esp. Ateles paniscus. The black-faced coaita is Ateles ater. See Illustration in Appendix. (Zool.)
